トヨタ86が中古市場に流通し始め、サーキットでもドリフトする姿を見るようになり始める3年程より前から開発がスタートしました。SUPER STREETのコンセプトは、サーキット走行中心の方ドライバー から、普段のストリート走行される方まで、幅広く対応できる車高調が、D-MAX「SUPER STREET SUSPENSION(スーパーストリートサスペンション)」の求める形です。これからのドリフト車両のベース車両となり得る、トヨタ86用の車高調を開発しました。テストドライバーには普段から街乗りで使用して頂き、サーキット走行テストを繰り返し幾度となく仕様を変更しテストしてもらいました。トラクション・ハンドリングの操作性・幾度と修正した減衰力や基本バネレート設定両方に評価を頂けるまでに時間がかかってしまいましたが、 シルビアの開発時に求めた、ハイスペックでローコストなサスペンション「基本性能・減衰力・調整・バネレート 設定・基本構成パーツ」すべて妥協せずに発売する事となりました。

Development began about three years ago, when Toyota 86s began to be distributed on the second-hand market and began to be seen drifting on circuits. The concept of SUPER STREET is to provide a wide range of suspension that can be used by drivers who mainly drive on circuits, as well as those who usually drive on the street. This is the form that D-MAX's "SUPER STREET SUSPENSION" seeks. We have developed a suspension for the Toyota 86 that can be used as the base vehicle for future drift vehicles. The test driver used it on a regular basis for city driving, and repeatedly conducted circuit driving tests, changing the specifications many times. It took time to receive evaluations for both the traction and handling operability, as well as the damping force and basic spring rate settings that were revised many times, but we have decided to release a high-spec, low-cost suspension that we sought when developing the Silvia, without compromising on any of the following: basic performance, damping force, adjustment, spring rate settings, and basic components.
